What Advocacy Pros Can Learn From OnlyFans

I just finished listening to a fascinating podcast called Only Fantasy, which explores the world of OnlyFans from the perspective of the creators.
A quick disclaimer: I’ve never been on OnlyFans. I am not an expert on OnlyFans. I am probably not the target audience for OnlyFans.
And yet.
Somewhere in the middle of the series, I found myself mentally taking notes about nonprofit advocacy.
Which was not where I expected my Tuesday afternoon to go.
The podcast spends a lot of time talking about how OnlyFans creators build relationships with their audiences. Not just by posting content, but by creating a sense of connection. Their subscribers feel like they know them, are invested in their success, and are part of something.
About halfway through, I found myself thinking, “Well, this sounds familiar.”
Nonprofit organizations are wrestling with many of the same questions:
How do you get people to pay attention?
How do you keep them engaged?
How do you turn someone from a casual observer into a committed supporter?
Different industry. Same challenge.
How Snyder Strategies Can Help
If your organization is relying on the occasional action alert, lobby day, or fundraising appeal and wondering why engagement feels inconsistent, the answer may not be another tactic.
It may be time to focus on the relationships underneath it all.
That's exactly the kind of work I help organizations with: building intentional advocacy strategies that strengthen supporter engagement, grow organizational power, and move beyond random acts of advocacy.
If that’s where you are, let’s talk.
